"Tallest bridge 50 pc complete"

Union Minister of State for Textiles and Rail-ways Darshana Vikram Jardosh today informed that construction of the world's tallest railway bridge along Jiribam-Imphal railway line has been completed by 50 per cent.
She was speaking at an interaction programme with media persons at Hotel Imphal on the various developmental projects taken up by the Government.
The Union MoS expressed satisfaction on the projects taken up by the State Govt.The seminar on technical textiles conducted recently with stakeholders provided a good result, she said.
Minister Darshana continued that the railway project has been going on smoothly and construction of the world's tallest railway bridge has been completed by 50 per cent.
Construction of a world class Imphal station of the Jiribam-Imphal railway line has also been going on in full swing, she said.
She informed that there are plans to construct low budget hotels where there is natural attractiveness at every station of the railway line so as to promote tourism in the State.
The MoS said that full support would be provided to the State Government in implementing different projects successfully.
In connection with handloom and handicrafts, Darshana Vikram Jardosh said that works related with handloom and handicrafts mainly involve women in the State.
There is indication of a smooth coordination between the State and the Central Government in taking up the schemes successfully regarding handloom and handicrafts, she remarked.
Keeping in view of the recent unfortunate landslide at Tupul, Noney district, there has been restructuring of the construction work, the Union MoS said.
IIT companies have done research on techniques regarding cabling, electrification and to avoid disaster in future.
Warning system would also be utilised to make the people alert if any such incidents are likely to occur, she added.
