Imphal, September 23 2026: Responding to an ultimatum served by the KSO Twilang Block, the Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati has issued a clarification stating that the United Naga Council's ongoing democratic agitation was called demanding justice for six Liangmai Naga men who were killed after being abducted on May 13, 2026 .

The KSO, Twilang Block, seems to have issued its ultimatum misunderstanding the underlying reasons for the UNC's agitation, said the NPO .

The ongoing agitation is directly connected with the demand for justice for the six Naga civilians who were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei village and subsequently handed over to the KNF-P.The KSO, Twilang Block, is therefore urged to understand the sentiments and pulse of the Naga people at this critical juncture, the NPO said.

Instead of issuing ultimatum, the KSO should direct their efforts towards urging the Government to deliver justice for the six slain innocent Naga civilians.

Such an approach will help create a conducive atmosphere for dialogue and contribute towards restoring peace, it added.

The NPO appealed to all concemed to act responsibly and refrain from taking any step that may further deteriorate the prevailing situation.
