Imphal, December 15 2009: Condolence messages at the sudden demise of Professor Naorem Sanajaoba have been pouring in from different quarters.

The National Research Centre, Canchipur held a condolence meeting and observed three minutes' silence in honour of the departed soul.

In a condolence message, the NRC said that Prof Sanajaoba was a social activist besides being a renowned academician who dedicated his life for the Nation.

Conveying deep shock over the sudden demise of Prof Sanajaoba, the Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) lamented that the demise of Sanajaoba left a big void in Manipuri society.

Prof Sanajoaba was a guiding light in many social movements besides indulging himself in many such movements.

Condoling the demise of Prof Sanajaoba, the All Manipur Muslims Development Organisation said that Prof Sanajaoba was a prominent figure not only in Manipur but in the entire North East region.

He was one staunch proponent of the rights of oppressed people.

The Kabui Dharma Sabha Manipur prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace in the heavenly abode.

The Kabui Dharma Sabha described Prof Sanajaoba as a committed advocate of a united Manipur.

The Sabha also held a condolence meeting and observed two minutes' silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

In its condolence message, the Irabot Foundation Manipur hailed Prof Sanajaoba as an anti-colonial campaigner who woke up the oppressed people and provoked them to fight for their rights based on international humanitarian laws.

Even as Prof Sanajaoba has passed away, his books and ideology would continue to inspire the oppressed class to fight for their rights.

Conveying deep condolence over the sudden demise of Prof Sanajaoba, the International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) hailed the late Professor as champion of the mass and the truth.

His death is an irreparable loss to the Manipuri society.

Members and advisors of the North Imphal United Clubs and Meira Paibees Organisation (NIUCAMO) also observed two minutes' silence in honour of the departed soul.

They prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace in the heavenly abode.

The Imphal East United Clubs' Organisation (IEUCO) has also condoled the untimely demise of Prof Sanajaoba by observing three minutes' silence.

They also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family.

Condoling the untimely demise of Prof Sanajaoba, the Social United Club Organisation Khurai lamented that Manipur has lost one rare leader who had been a source of inspiration, knowledge and courage to the people.

In its condolence message, the Khonghampat Youth Club described Prof Sanajaoba as a brave scholar and a social activist who had no reservation or fear to speak out the truth.

He was a true patriot who led the people on the right path at times of serious crisis that rocked Manipur on different occasions.
