Education Dept working to fulfill needs of displaced students, says Director

The Director of Education (S), L Nandakumar has asserted that the Department is leaving no stone unturned to meet the educational needs of displaced students in the State.
He made the remark during the State Level Unique Selling Proposition (USP) Exhibition 2023-24 held at the office of Samagra Shiksha in Imphal West today.
The exhibition was organised by the Samagra Shiksha State Implementation Society Manipur.
As a part of the function, school bags and educational kits were distributed by UNISED (Unit of Science and Educational Development) under Oil India Limited's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The items were distributed through Educational Officers of different districts.
For the first phase, the kits and bags will be given to displaced students in relief camps.
Eventually, the goal is to ensure that every student in Manipur receives these items.
Speaking on the occasion, the Education (S) Director stated that the exhibition will be of great benefit to students.
Lauding the objects displayed by students at the exhibition, L Nandakumar maintained that encouraging students to build these articles will be advantageous to the students.
Stating that the Department alone cannot fulfill the needs of the displaced students, the Director informed that they are receiving help from different quarters.
Altogether 32 schools participated in today's exhibition where Ananda Singh Hr Secondary Academy, Imphal East bagged the first prize; K K Leishiphanit Jr High School, Ukhrul and Kumbi Sandong Upper Primary School, Bishnupur secured the second position and Khurkhul Lairenjao Upper Primary School, Imphal West and Ithai High School, Bishnupur were declared third prize winners.
Simple prizes were distributed to the winners.
