Imphal, August 10 2025: Fiction & Poetry Club, Manipur celebrated its 21 st Foundation Day at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal today.

The celebration was graced by Thoudam Netrajit Singh, president, Fiction & Poetry Club; Prof Chirom Rajketan Singh, Manipuri Department, Manipur University; and Yumlembam Ibomcha, Sahitya Akademi Awardee as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Thoudam Netrajit conveyed his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of the 21 st foundation day of Fiction & Poetry Club Manipur.

He said that since its inception, the club has been actively supporting and working for the development of poetry writing skills among young people.

"In the last 21 years, members of the club have written and published many short stories, dramas and poetry books", said Thoudam Netrajit while conveying happiness over the growing interest in poetry among the people especially the youths.

As part of the event, two books titled "Thawai Palliba Meetam" written by Basanta Thokchom and "Yawa Amatang" by Dr S K Apanba were also released.

Meanwhile, a book titled "Naki Ahmed Choudhury (INA Captain)" written by Kayamuddin Pukhrimayum was released today at a function held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

The book release function organised by the Writers Union, Imphal was graced by dignitaries, including Ajrun Kabir, vice president, Writers Union, Imphal; Nongmaithem Kirankumar, former convenor, Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi; Makhon Mani Mongsaba, Sahitya Akademi Awardee; and BM Meisnamba, Sahitya Akademi Awardee.
