Imphal, August 03 2025: A 23 year old youth who was arrested on the charge of showing obscene pictures to school-going girls on his mobile phone has been remanded in police custody.

Accused Thoungamba Keisham (23) Wangkheimayum Leirak Machin was produced before the Duty Magistrate, Imphal West today.

Prosecution submitted that the father of a minor girl lodged a complaint stating that while her daughter was on her way to school located at Uripok yesterday morning, she was stopped by Thoungamba Keisham who in a four-wheeler vehicle and showed the minor girl some obscene (nude) pictures on his mobile phone.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered under POCSO Act for investigation.

During the course of investigation, CCTV footage installed at the incident site was monitored and the accused was arrested.

The accused also admitted to the charges levelled against him, the prosecution submitted.

The Duty Magistrate, after hearing the submission of the prosecution and on perusal of the case record, remanded the accused in police custody till August 6 .
