The MPP Legislature Wing leader O Joy today said judicial inquiry should be initiated on the Khwairamband incident of July 23, and demanded the resignation of CM O Ibobi from his post on moral ground.
O Joy was speaking at the Public Dialogue on Khwairamband incident of July 23 organised by the Manipur People's Party (MPP) today at GM Hall.
Saying that the Khwairamband incident shows that there could have been several fake encounter killings in the state, O Joy said the gun culture prevailing in the state deserves condemnation and the people have to face it unflinchingly.
He also demanded that the nature of curbing public agitation by the police needs to be done away.
Speaking on the occasion, Ema Janaki noted that there has been no amiable relation between the government and civil society organizations.
She also held the government responsible for the acts of terrorism in the state.
The second session was moderated by former member of the Manipur Human Rights Commission, Yambem Laba.
Delivering his presidential address, Dr Nimaichand Luwang urged all political parties and civil society organizations to be united in protesting the fake encounters.
He also appealed all concerned not to retract to the agitations against the fake encounter incident of Khwairamband Bazar on July 23 .
