Chief guest of the event Dr Ch Arunkumar also released AMAMECON 2014 souvenir as part of the conference today.
In his speech Dr Arun-kumar blamed the recurring formation of JACs against deaths at hospitals for the diminishing bond between doctors and patients.
He further added that medical facilities could be made easily available to the masses only when Primary Health Centres (PHC) are upgraded.
The doctor also assured assistance from the IMA, State Branch for the development of medical institutions in Manipur.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Shyamo Singh, Director, JN Institute of Medical Sciences, said doctors are often blamed for most deaths at hospitals.
On recurrent formation of JACs, the Director said the JACs should, rather than creating scenes at hospitals, seek help from law to get to the heart of the matter.
Dr O Ibomcha, during his speech, said the mortality rate of women in childbirth as well as infants is comparatively lower in Manipur than any other States of India.
Infact, the State secured second place in India's child mortality list.
Giving the presidential speech, Dr Th Dhabali said the State is now able to produce hundred doctors a year.
This, he said, would hopefully contribute in the development of medical institutions in the State.
