Imphal, July 30 2025:
The students' union of Maharaja Bodhachandra College at Palace Compound has urged authorities concerned to replace the college's Principal within 3 days.
Addressing a press meet today, MB College Students' Union's general secretary, Md Sahaj Khan claimed the Principal has been acting against the interest of the college and welfare of the students.
The Principal has time and again rejected every proposal of the students to improve the college and address students' concerns, he said.
The Principal has rejected the students' proposal to repair the college toilet, hold debating and music and dance competitions, he said.
Sahaj Khan said, the Principal has openly challenged the students to submit whatever proposal they want, saying he will reject them all.
Earlier, the student union had approached the Principal Secretary and the Director of Higher Education urging them to replace the college Principal.
"The Principal Secretary of the Higher Education had then personally called the college Principal over the phone.
It angered him.
He had then accused the students of backstabbing," Sahaj Khan said.
Charging the students of going behind his back, the Principal had then openly challenged the students to see "who is stronger", Sahaj Khan said.
The student union also has a recording of the Vice Principal challenging the students to do whatever they want, said the student leader.
Further, the student union has repeatedly requested the college authorities to produce account statements of funds utilised during 2024-25.However, these account statements have not been released yet, he said.
The college Principal must be removed or replaced within 3 days.
If authorities fail to replace him within the given time, the students may launch intense agitation, Sahaj Khan said.
