"Fit India Sundays on Cycle" conducted

Sports Authority of India (SAI), North East Regional Centre Imphal in collaboration with the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU), Press Information Bureau (PIB), Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Imphal, Editor Guild Manipur (EGM) and Press Trust of India (PTI) organised a cycle rally carrying Fit India message today.
DIPR Joint Director L Ashok Kumar flagged off the "Fit India Sunday on Cycle" from SAI, NERC Imphal, Takyel Complex.
The rally proceeded towards Malom Oil Dept and concluded at SAI, NERC Imphal.
Laijing L Maring, Assistant Director (Pers and Admin), SAI NERC Imphal; Laishram Samritya Singh, Assistant Director (Khelo India), SAI NERC, Imphal; Pushpa Maibam, Media and Communication Officer, PIB Imphal and N Nando, Assistant Director (News), DDK Imphal were also present at the event.
The event was organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, with an objective to build upon the overwhelming success of earlier campaigns such as the Fit India Cycling Drive, which recorded participation from over 1.5 crore citizens.
Taking this vision forward, the Ministry announced the launch of Fit India Cycling Drive- Making Cycling Sundays a Janbhagidari Movement, with the aim of making cycling an integral part of Indian lifestyles.
The "Fit India Sundays on Cycle" campaign has rapidly evolved into a nationwide movement, encouraging citizens to dedicate time each Sunday to fitness and environmental awareness.
The campaign perfectly embodied the essence of the Fit India Movement, promoting personal health while reinforcing environmental sustainability.
By inspiring millions to adopt cycling, the initiative bridges the gap between individual wellness and collective responsibility towards reducing pollution & creating a healthier planet.
As a part of the event, a 1-minute silence was also observed in solidarity to the Pahalgam (Kashmir) terror attack.
Similarly, as part of the Fit India Sundays on Cycle campaign, a cycle rally was also conducted today in Bishnupur district under the theme, "Let's cycle our way to fitness" .
The rally was organised by SAI India, STC Utlou in collaboration with All Bishnupur District Working Journalist Union.
All Bishnupur District Working Journalists Union president Y Somananda flagged off the cycle rally from SAI, STC Utlou complex in the presence of SAI STC Utlou in-charge, L Rinky Singh; Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Deputy Director, Dr S Dhanachandra; CMO Bishnupur, Dr L Raichandra; All Bishnupur District Work; ing Journalists Union secretary, A Kishankumar and treasurer, K Pabitra; .Gold Gym proprietor, P Tomba; Air India Express Ltd station manager, M Minachandra; Real Image Travel proprietor, H Ibomcha and athletes of SAI STC Utlou.
The rally proceeded towards Nambol Phoijing, Utlou Makha Leikai and concluded at SAI, STC Utlou complex.
