DC imposes containment measures in Thoubal

Thoubal, May 26 2021:
The Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, in a statement issued today, declared stringent containment measures in selected geographical areas under Thoubal district in a bid to control the surge of COVID-19 infection in the second wave.
The measures include sealing of the geographical areas, ban of entry and exit of people from the containment areas, and initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases.
Containment measures were imposed at the residential complex of - Elangbam Jugol of Heirok part III Ngarouthel, Atom Babushwor of Haokha Maning Leikai, Wangjam Inaoton of Thoubal Kshetrileikai, Ningombam Haridash of Khongjom Sapam, Khangemba Akoijam of Thoubal Wangmataba, Sangujam Kullachandra Singh of Nongpok Sekmai, Elangbam Jecky & Khundrakpam Abem Devi of Khangabok Khullakpam Leikai, Lairikyengbam Inaobi of Wangjing SK, Akoijam Munal of Shikhong Bazar, Leirikmacha Devi of Charangpat Mamang Leikai, Mutum Marjit of Kiyam Siphai Mamang Leikai, Asem Somorjit of Thoubal Bazar, Ningombam Siva Anand of Thoubal Okram, Okram Sangai Devi of Thoubal Achouba, Sairem Oken of Charangpat Mamang Leikai, Sapam Dilip of Salungpham Maning Leikai, Th Surjit Singh of Yairipok, Yengkhom Tiken of Thoubal Ningombam Bazar, Ningthoujam Dhaneshwori of Heirok Part II Mayai Leikai, Ningthoujam Bheigya of Khangabok Part I Khullakpam Leikai, it added.
It may be mentioned that 21 residents of 21 different localities in Thoubal district were tested COVID-19 positive and in the view of the impending threat of COVID-19 pandemic in the areas, containment measures to prevent spread of the disease in the district was necessitated.
