Imphal, August 19 2024: Taking strong exception to the term 'Chin State of Manipur' mentioned in the draft NEC Vision 2047, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come out with a statement on the blunder.

Incidentally, the Ministry of DoNER has withdrawn the draft NEC Vision 2047 after the blunder was pointed out by the State Government.

Briefing media persons at Rajiv Bhavan, Guwahati today, K Meghachandra asked where is the Chin State of Manipur.

The Prime Minister must come out with an official statement that no Chin State would be created out of Manipur and the territorial integrity of Manipur will remain intact.

He asked, "Why should Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia not resign for creating 'Chin State of Manipur' in the draft NEC Vision 2047?" .

The MPCC president went on to ask if the double-engine Government of BJP in Delhi and Imphal are conspiring to create a direct threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur by 2047 .

He further asked if Prime Minister Narendra Modi is secretly planning to disintegrate Manipur and create a Chin State out of Manipur.
