Imphal, September 06 2026:
Oinam Nabakishore Singh has resigned from the primary membership of Janata Dal (United), its National Council and also from the posts of vice-president and treasurer of State unit of Janata Dal (United), Manipur with immediate effect.
O Nabakishore submitted his resignation letter to Janata Dal (United) National General Secretary Md Afaque Ahamad Khan today.
Notably, Oinam Nabakishore, a retired IAS officer, contested the last State Assembly election in Bishnupur AC on JD (U) ticket.
Failure of the National Democratic Alliance Government at the Centre of which JD(U) is an alliance partner, and the Government of Manipur led by BJP, which is supported by JD(U), in restoring peace and stability in strife torn Manipur in the last three years and four months is a manifestation of disinterest of NDA Government in the critical affairs of Manipur where people have been facing untold suffering continuously, O Naba-kishore said in his resignation letter.
"Such apathy and attitude of unconcern by National leaders of JD(U) forces me to leave the party with a heavy heart", it added.
