Teachers' capacity training programme on "Nursery Rhymes and Development of Educational Toys" kicks off

A 7-day teachers' capacity training programme entitled "Nursery Rhymes and Development of Educational Toys" was kicked off today at the multipurpose hall of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Manipur located at Lamphelpat today.
Reportedly, the 7-day capacity training programme was a joint effort of the Directorate of University and Higher Education, Manipur and SCERT as a preparatory measure for the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in the State.
The inaugural event was attended by Nongmaithem Ajit, OSD, Directorate of University and Higher Education, Manipur; Jim G Thingujam, Head of Office, SCERT and A Rajeshwar Sharma, Academic Officer as the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongmaithem Ajit stated that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has brought changes in the syllabus of various courses, especially in IT syllabus by the addition of new topics.
He shared that the 7-day capacity training programme was launched with the goal of addressing any obstacles teachers might face with this syllabus expansion.
Further, he cautioned that if such necessary training programmes are not conducted then it could negatively impact the student community of the State.
The OSD also invited suggestions from experts to better train teachers and equip them with the necessary tools to teach students.
"With the implementation of NEP 2020, there will be a great overhaul in the management system of schools and colleges", he added.
Addressing the gathering, Jim G Thingujam lauded the Directorate of University and Higher Education, Manipur for their valuable role in organising the 7-day teachers' capacity training programme.
He encouraged the participating teachers to openly clear their doubts during the course of this programme while urging them to participate sincerely and with dedication.
