'Right move by Govt to remove signboards in Molnoi area'

Thoubal, November 05 2022: CSOs of Pallel area have appreciated the State Government's move to remove signboards in Kakching district that have "Chandel" and "Tengnoupal" written on them.

It may be mentioned that a team of police personnel led by Kakching SDO/SDM Okram Sandhyarani and Kakching DC, Somorjit Salam removed the signboards in Molnoi area on November 3, 2022 .

The drive was carried out following a notification issued by Kakching SDO/SDM on October 6 directing the removal of signboards put up within Kakching Sub-division that have "Chandel" and "Tengnoupal" written on them.

Addressing a joint press conference held at the office of Youth Voluntary Association (YVA) Pallel today, Romen Khuman, chairman YVA informed that Pallel area was earlier in Thoubal district under the 52 Seeds Area Land Record and is presently under Kakching district.

Pointing out that many communities have been residing together in Pallel for ages, Romen expressed his concern over the claims made by some groups without proper historical knowledge of the area.

"People of Pallel and CSOs will support the Government in its initiative to protect the district boundaries", he added.

Appreciating the Government's move to protect the district boundary, he urged all concerned to refrain from making unreasonable demands like suspending the SDO and DC of Kakching district.

Romen further urged all to come together and provide their support in promoting peace & harmony in the area.

Representatives of YVA, Social Development Organization (SDO) Pallel, Youth Development Organization (YDO) Pallel, Pallel Apunba Luchingbi Ima Lup (PALEM), Ching Tam Nupi Apunba Lup Pallel Area and Pallel Gram Panchayat also took part in the conference.
