Joykisan asks Central forces to be sincere

Imphal, September 05 2024: MLA Kh Joykisan has stated that there would not have been any need for civilians to take up arms in the form of village volunteers had Central forces deployed in the State fought the armed Kuki infiltrators/immigrants from Myanmar sincerely.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of a public toilet constructed beside the multipurpose hall of Kangjabi Leirak Youth Club.

He appealed to all the Central forces deployed in the State to accept every Manipuri as citizens of India and act accordingly to defend them from external aggression.

At the same time, the Central forces need to acknowledge that the village volunteers are protecting the integrity of India by fighting against Kuki militants courageously, Joykisan said.

The Government of India knows well that there were external hands in the aerial bombing of civilians by Kuki militants using high-tech drones.

If the Central security forces fight such Kuki militants sincerely, there will not be any need for village volunteers, he said.

He also claimed that the Government has been working hard to bring an end to the Manipur crisis.

Joykisan said that the toilet complex inaugurated today was constructed with the help of JCI Imphal Iconics.

The MLA also hailed the humanitarian services carried out by JCI Imphal Iconics over the years.

JCI Imphal Iconics president Suman Jain was also present at the inaugural function.

Meanwhile, as assured earlier by MLA Joykisan, repairing of the road leading to Neikanlong from Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai (Fisheries Gate) began from Wednesday.

The MLA made a field inspection of the road repairing work today.

He said that construction of the road was delayed as one tender of Imphal Ring Road could not be finalised.

"Nonetheless, considering the importance, I have started repairing the road as we cannot wait for the Government" he said.

He also announced that repair/construction of Sinam Leikai (eastern road) and the road leading to Hijam Leikai from Lairenhanjaba Leikai would be started soon.
