Imphal, December 04 2009: The All Manipur Parents' and Teachers' Association has convened another meeting on December 6 at Koirengei air-field to discuss the unfolding scenario in the aftermath of the indefinite class boycott called by AMSU, MSF and KSA against the July 23 killings.

Speaking to media persons at EK Hr Sec School, Sangakpham today, Principal of the school and convenor of the association P Saratchandra made a fervent to let the students study normally.

He also called upon teachers to muster all their strength and courage and launch a strong movement against the July 23 killings.

Observing that CBSE examination programme have been published while students have been deprived of education for the last three months, Saratchandra appealed to all concerned to let students attend class within the current week.

Former DIG and founder of Hundred Flower School Rehman noted that the months from December to March are hectic and busy academic seasons.

Observing that this pattern is followed all over India, Rehman lamented that depriving normal education during such hectic periods would prove a great loss to students of Manipur.

Prolonged closure of educational institutions would also increase the number of drop-outs, he said.

Advisor of the association Nandalal Angomcha observed that the prevailing situation has the potential of ruining the career of one whole generation.

Saying that such colossal loss can never be recuperated, Nandalal appealed to all concerned to allow students attend class.

"Parents are of the opinion that they take their children to schools and wait till the school hour ends" he said.

He further appealed to all parents/guardians and teachers to attend the meeting convened on December 6 at Koirengei.
