CCpur, March 03 2023:
Interior villages of Songtal and Sinzawl in Churachandpur's Mual-nuam Sub Division have been stalked by mass illness with symptoms of fever, cough and nausea as villagers grapple for treatment in the absence of health officials, sources said.
The infection which began about a week ago has figuratively touched at least one member of every family.
The absence of health officials due to their ongoing strike has compounded their hardship as the villagers merely rely on private pharmacies to get treatment, added the source.
The rapid rise in such cases has compelled closure of schools in both the villages for a week to mitigate the spread.
As many of the villagers are still bed-ridden, the villagers appealed to the authority concerned to dispatch doctors to the doctors on humanitarian ground to tackle the health crisis.
