Imphal, February 01: Even as AE of PWD Sorokhaibam Menjor of Charangpat was released today after being held captive for five days, People's United Liberation Front (PULF) has reportedly taken into custody Naorem Kishore Singh, another AE of the same department yesterday.

In a statement, information and publicity secretary of the armed outfit Md Belan Khan said Menjor was released from the custody of the outfit somewhere in Thoubal district at around 6 pm today after considering the appeal of the civil organisations and his family members.

In connection with holding AE Kishore as a captive, Belan Khan explained that although the outfit has no personal enmity with him, yet he is one of the officials of the Department concerned who defied the outfit and could not treat everyone equally.

Warning against any attempt to track him down, Belan categorically stated that retired Chief Engineer Mangsatabam Sanaton,Chief Engineer BS Chingtham , SE Kh Khamba Singhand other Departmental officials who are enjoying the percentage of the fund deducted from the public in the name of the outfit should be held responsible in case of any untoward incident happen to Kishore.

They have also been asked to surrender within 4 pm of February 5 .

Belan Khan also come out strong against the alleged misinformation being carried out by Azad alias Robin and his followers through media. Meanwhile, earlier during the day, a large number of people including the family members of Menjor gheraoed the office complex of PWD here urging the Government for securing his safe release.
