Senapati, July 26 2016:
More than 1500 villagers from Laii, Laii Shirafii, New Laii, Chingmai Khullen, Chingmai Khunou and Katafiimai today took part in a massive social work along the TT Laii Road.
The initiative along the 28-km road began on July 22 and will continue till its completion.
TT Laii Road, constructed during Second World War (1942-1945), is one of the oldest roads and the only State Highway connecting Phek district of Nagaland.
The road covered many important villages including Laii, Laii Shirafii, New Laii, Chingmai Khullen, Chingmai Khunou and Katafiimai which fall under Paomata Block and the local populace solely depend on this road.
However, the road has been left unattended by the State Government for the last 20 years.
ML Markson, Chairman ADC, Senapati came all the way from district Headquarters and assisted the villagers .
The ADC Chairman also generously provided two dumpers, six Shaktiman trucks, two JCBs and five Tata Sumo vehicles.
Tungjoy Village Authority has also provided a JCB free of cost.
Laii Circle Union also extended gratitude to the people for their relentless contribution and urged the State Government to redress the grievances of the villagers.
