Motor Cycle rally organized against drug abuse

Imphal, February 21 2021: Co-ordinating Body khurai Imphal East District Police Department and Naska Mukta bharat campaign of Imphal East jointly organised a motorcycle rally in the theme For a drug Free society.

The rally took place on Sunday the 21st February 2021 starting from Khurai lamlong bazaar in which around 300 bikers participated in it.

Carrying the message of a drug free society and combating drugs , the bikers carried placards written " save the life of younger generation" "Stop poppy cultivation" "Life is more precious than money" and drive to various places of Imphal East district including the remotest part.

The motorcycle rally was flagged off by Khumanthem Diana Devi (IAS) DC Imphal East from Khurai Lamlong Bazar at 11 am.

There were messages by announcement using loudspeakers at some certain public areas to ensure the message reached a maximum number of people.

The bikers arrived at SRC ground at Khurai puthiba leikai of Imphal east around 12.30 pm.

Jogeschandra Haobijam (IPS) SP Imphal East , Sanajbam Inoubi Meetei ( National Awardee) vice chairman co ordinating Body khurai , Ksh Ravikumar singh ( IPS) SDPO Lamlai Imphal East district police have consented to grace the function as chief Guest President and Guest of Honour respectively.

Jogeshchandra Haobijam SP Imphal East district expressed that if the local clubs work together against drugs with the support of the Imphal East District police drug can be completely wiped out from this district.

He appreciated Khurai co-ordinating body for being a successful club to organise a waging war against drugs in a short time.

Rabikumar SDPO Lamlai police said that involvement of the people in the war on drugs is very important and the police are getting ready to help such people to the highest level.
