Without saying when, Dr Ajeet Gopchade, the newly appointed in-charge of BJP Manipur Pradesh, has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will definitely visit Manipur with a roadmap to end the protracted crisis in Manipur.
Dr Ajeet Gopchade, the Rajya Sabha MP from Maharashtra, landed in Manipur today and he will stay in the State for a few days.
The MP was received by BJP State unit president A Sarda Devi and vice president M Asnikumar at the airport.
Upon his arrival to Manipur, Dr Ajeet Gop- chade went to the relief camp set up at Tombisana High School at Thangmeiband Khuyathong and interacted with the Internally Displaced People (IDP) including the children taking refuge there.
Dr Ajeet Gopchade had also visited the same relief camp ahead of the 18th Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to the media by the sideline, the MP said that the BJP has been putting in efforts to work out a solution to the protracted crisis in Manipur.
Continuing that the ethnic tension in Manipur was triggered by the attack on the Government by a drug mafia, Dr Ajeet Gopchade added that the Government will meet with the people and discuss what can be done to ensure people get the benefit of the Government schemes and also to improve their financial condition.
He also said that a meeting of the BJP State executives will be convened at Thambal Shanglen tomorrow.
To a query, the BJP MP responded that he acknowledges the visit of Rahul Gandhi to Manipur as a leader of the Opposition but he (Rahul) should not do politics over the Manipur crisis and rub salt to the wound.
He expressed desire for the Opposition parties to lend a hand in restoring normalcy in Manipur instead.
There is a BJP Government at the Centre and the State, he said and added that both the Governments are putting in efforts to resolve the crisis in Manipur and also stop the drug mafia coming from outside.
He said that both the warring communities need to talk to one another to work out a solution to the crisis in the State.
Saying that Narendra Modi was elected as the Prime Minister for the third term by the people and he takes Manipur very seriously, Dr Ajeet maintained that the Prime Minister won't come empty handed when he visits Manipur.
Further stating that his visit in Manipur is to bring peace and development to the State, he continued that to redress the grievances of the people of Manipur is the priority of the Government.
14 months of unrest is a very long time but the Government wasn't silent all these months, he stated and continued that the Prime Minister will definitely visit Manipur.
The BJP also said that he will visit other relief camps.
