"World Red Cross Day" observed

World Red Cross Day, 2025 was observed across the State today to commemorate the 197th birth anniversary of its founder Jean Henry Dunant.
In Senapati, International Red Cross Society (IRCS) Senapati District Branch observed World Red Cross Day at IRCS Senapati Branch office today.
The program was attended by IRCS district branch executive members, advisors and youth volunteers.
At the beginning of the observation, there was a mass spoken prayer and the benediction was led by senior most member and advisor and State Management Committee member, R S Abel.
During the observation, the Honorary Chairman of the branch stressed the importance of Red Cross Society in the present society and briefed the life journey of the founder Jean Henry Dunant, his role and contribution toward humanity.
The program concluded with distribution of hygiene kits to a few individuals and volunteers.
Meanwhile, IRCS Jiribam also observed World Red Cross Day today at its office premises located at Jiribam Babupura on the theme "On the side of Humanity".
The event was attended by the members of the IRCS Jiribam district branch.
As part of the event, hygienic kits were distributed to the inmates of Harinagar IDP camp and Jiribam Higher Secondary School IDP camp.
World Red Cross Day was also observed at Bishnupur DC Conference Hall organised by the IRCS Bishnupur to celebrate the principles of the Red Crescent Movement.
It was attended by IRCS Bishnupur Branch, president and DC of Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram, chairman of IRCS Bishnupur, Dr W Gulapi, ADM Bishnupur T Opendro along with members and volunteers of IRCS Bishnupur.
As part of the event, hygiene kits were also distributed to the journalists of Bishnupur district.
