RK Anand joins BJP

Imphal, July 02 2020: Former MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC RK Anand has joined BJP and he was accorded a warm reception at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of BJP Manipur Pradesh today.

Speaking at the felicitation function, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Prof S Tikendra said that the party welcomes entry of political leaders.

He went on to claim that many well known political leaders are in the pipeline to join BJP and this is an unmistakeable proof of the growing popularity of BJP in the State.

As per the Constitutional provisions of the party, anyone can join BJP.

People may join BJP at the State or National level and there is also online enrolment facility, he added.

State BJP chief hails PMGKAY : BJP Manipur Pradesh president Prof S Tikendra has claimed that Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) is the biggest of all the schemes launched by different countries across the globe to mitigate people's sufferings caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today, Prof Tikendra said that five Kgs of rice have been distributed to each individual and one Kg of dal to each family in a month from April to June under PMGKAY.

In his address given to the Nation on June 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the free ration scheme would be extended by five months till November, noted the BJP State unit president while hailing the same announcement.

The amount required for implementation of the free ration scheme is Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

The scheme would benefit around 80 crore people of the country including around 21 lakh people of Manipur, he said.

On being enquired about complaints that people did not get due share or quantity of rice, the BJP State unit president said that five Kgs of rice should be distributed to each individual and one Kg of dal to each family free of cost without fail.

If anyone commits discrepancies or hinders successful implementation of the scheme, he/she would be definitely penalised, Prof Tikendra added.
