CADA conducts COVID-19 awareness programme

Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) conducted an awareness programme on COVID-19 pandemic at Hiyanglam-Wabagai Terapishak Keithel today.
The main objective of the programme was to spread awareness on COVID-19 and do away with the social stigma and ill-treatment being faced by quarantine completed returnees, COVID-19 recovered persons and front line warriors (doctor, nurse and police), said a statement issued by CADA.
The awareness programme, where president Hijam Priyokumar, advisor Elangbam Shyama, Kakching District Committee of the organisation and senior member Terapishak Apunba Meira Paibi Lup Huidrom Memngoubi attended as presidium members, was conducted by following social distancing norms.
In his speech, Dipanjit highlighted guidelines of World Health Organisation (WHO) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to the people who attended the awareness programme while Priyokumar appealed the State Government to quarantine those drivers who were engaged in ferrying the returnees.
CADA secretary organisation and vice president Mayengbam Budhi and Dipanjit Ningthoujam also attended the programme.
Meanwhile, The Komrem Union, Manipur, under the leadership of its president Lalkhomang Serto, conducted an awareness programme on COVID-19 and also distributed 3 face masks per household of Khoirentak Khuman, Khoirentak Khunou, Harmantang, Kangathei and Sempangjar villages in Churanchandpur district on June 28 and 29 .
Further, the villagers were also instructed to strictly follow the SOPs issued by the Government to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
