Imphal, December 26: The proscribed KYKL today denied that the VC, MU Dr N Bijoy and Registrar RK Ranjan were wrongly punished on Dec 17 as alleged by UNLF.

A press hand out issued by Lanngamba Mangang, Secretary, Publicity and Research, KYKL today said the matter was thoroughly investigated.

It questioned if the UNLF is the USA of Manipur.

Rules were flouted in the selection of the Director AVRC it said.

The minimum qualification was changed it further said and the advertisement issued was faulty.

Justice and dictionary meaning of words as understood by UNLF seem different considering the claim it further observed.

It asked the UNLF to clarify why corrigendum was not issued by Dr Bijoy.

It asked why the Registrar changed the pay scale when the advertisement was issued.

If it was the same why did not he notify the same which was given it further asked.

The pay scale notified meant that of Administrative post whereas the actual is that of an academic faculty cadre post.

It urged to read the UGC norms carefully to understand the matter.

What pay will be given if different persons having different pay scales come it further asked.

In the letter written by RK Ranjan to Dr N Premcnand the higher pay scale was written not the one given in the advertisement.

As UNLF has come out as the advocate of Ranjan it asked UNLF to clarify the points raised.

How can one say that there was nothing wrong in publishing the advertisement in a weekly having few readers it asked.

So many qualified persons came for the post it said.

The KYKL has taken up works under Operation New Kangleipak for the last five years it said.

It is the prerogative of KYKL not UNLF to decide what punishments have to be given.

Question of revenge does not arise it said.

UNLF has no power or jurisdiction to judge over the activities of KYKL it further said.

It questioned why the UNLF is supporting the VC and the Registrar.

It said the UNLF killed engineer, contractor, doctor without giving any warning.

UNLF enquired for only four days while the KYKL had been enquiring into the matter for months it said.

TheUNLF's appeal to the teaching communities to enquire into the matter is confusing as it seems it had reached a forced conclusion earlier it further observed.

Kanglei Yawol Kanba Lup is not below any organisation.

It welcomes criticism, condemnation however it will not accept charges levelled without much preparations it said.
