ZSUM appeals for peace

Imphal, June 24 2012:
The Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has called for maintaining restrain to avert further violence and hostility among the revolutionary groups based in Tamenglong District.
In a statement, Chairman of ZSUM, D Stephen Zeme said that people of Tamenglong District and the Nagas living in different part of the country are alarmed by the communal tone from some of the rival factions declaring to launch operation against non-Zeliangrong intruders as appeared in Hueiyen Lanpao on its June 23 edition.
Stephen appealed to all the revolutionary groups to apply wisdom and utmost conscience of tolerance to one another so that peace may return to assuage the fear psychosis in Zeliangrong region in particular and the Nagas inhabited areas in general.
The ZSUM has also condoled all the departed cadres who lost their lives in the factional clash recently in different part of Tamenglong District.
Meanwhile ZSUM has strongly condemned the incident at Maram Bazar in which Pouchun Gonmei S/o Pheigang of Ramgailong was beaten up black and blue by some unidentified youths one week back and appealed to all concerned to ensure such incidents are not repeated in future and urged all the communities to live in peace and harmony.
