Imphal, November 15 2009:
A meeting organised by All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association at Palace Compound has resolved to appeal to both the Government and organisations involved in the agitations to bring about an amicable solution so as to enable resumption of normal academic activities.
Taking serious note of the continuous impasse that had been eluding solution even after a formal meeting between the Government and representatives of the agitating bodies, the meeting resolved to appeal to all concerned to resolved the issue within November 19 .
The meeting in particular appealed to the Apunba Lup, AMSU, MSF, KSA and the JACs of Rabina and Sanjit to make concerted effort for resolving the crisis within the specified date so that students may return to the classroom on the next day.
It also decried the Government's move to force open educational institutions by deploying security personnel rather than sorting out and ending the impasse through mutual consultation and amicable settlement.
The private school representatives also decided to extend unconditional support to the efforts of Senior Citizens Forum for Society in resolving the issues.
