Imphal, August 12:
The Committee Against Ceasefire Extension, Thangmeiband has categorically stated that the comments of some Naga organizations particularly UNC, ANSAM, NSO and NSF is aimed at fomenting trouble between the Meiteis and the Naga people and such designs to whip up communal passion and hatred should be stopped immediately.
In a statement, the committee said the Naga organizations are working over time to target the Meitei community in their speech and action ever since the Centre announced that the words "without territorial limits" have been deleted from the ceasefire agreement.
Without mincing words the committee laid down some points for the Naga organizations to digest.
The statement said that the Naga organizations should give substantial proofs that the Meiteis have been ill treating the Nagas and their benefits siphoned off by the Meiteis as claimed by the Naga organizations.
The committee said far from the Meiteis depriving the benefits of the Naga people, it is the Naga officers who have been diverting the benefits meant for the Naga people.
The statement also demanded that the decision taken by some Naga organizations that they have snapped ties with the State Government should be roll backed.
The Governor also came in for stinging criticism for his "anti Manipur" stand and added that the biased stand of the Governor has greatly angered the people.
The Governor should also take immediate steps to declare ANSAM, NSF, NSO and UNC as unlawful organizations as they are trying to whip up communal tension and hatred, said the statement.
The above named organizations should also be held equally guilty of the looting and harassment meted out by the NSCN (IM) on the highways.
