Imphal, July 01, 2012:
Imphal Urban Co-operative Bank Limited Share Holders' Welfare and Development Association has charged the Bank's Board of Director president Th Dilipkumar and general manager P Khogendro of not only violating prescribed norms but also misleading the public through unfounded media statements.
According to Association vice president Ng Gomti Devi, Dilipkumar and Khogendro without complying to prescribed norms have effected no less 22 appointments, initially on contract basis, ever since the Bank was established.
Presenting copies of appointment orders in support of the allegation while briefing media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Gomti cited a particular recruitment process for which Dilipkumar was the DPC chairman.
As authorities concerned issued an order annulling the appointment procedure under Dilipkumar, Khogendro was named the chairman, which too was against an order issued by the Cooperative Department Secretariat, she maintained.
The said appointment irregularities were highlighted to the RBI with the latter conveying on May 17 that the matter has been referred to the RCS Manipur for necessary investigation and action, Gomti claimed adding that approval of Minister concerned is being awaited to begin the probe.
Inspite of the pending official process, General Manager Khogendro issued appointment orders although the issue that figured at a meeting of the Board failed to resolve matter, the Association vice president claimed while opining that with such corrupt elements at the helm of affairs positive development and people-welfare initiatives from the bank would be a far-fetched expectation.
