AR engages with CSOs, students

Imphal, August 10 2025:
To foster trust, cooperation, and inclusive development, Assam Rifles under the Spear Corps organised an interaction with civil society organisations (CSOs) at Company Operating Base, Chandrakhong, Thoubal District.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event attended by representatives from K Somrei, Leirongthel, T/Khullen, Soraland, Horton, Yeasom, and Phajakhong villages featured constructive discussions on enhancing mutual understanding, addressing local concerns, and promoting peace building efforts.
Community members voiced their aspirations and challenges, while AR reaffirmed its commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives and maintaining a secure, harmonious environment, said the PRO.
AR also conducted a cleanliness and sapling plantation drive at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Umathel), Kakching district with participation of students, faculty members, Kakching Khunou Municipal Council, Waikhong Police, and AR personnel.
The drive included thorough cleaning of the school premises, hostels, residential quarters, and cookhouse areas.
Fogging operations were also carried out in residential zones to enhance public health and sanitation.
As part of drive saplings were planted across the campus, symbolising a collective pledge to nurture nature and safeguard the environment for future generations, said the PRO in another release.
The release further stated that to deepen the impact of the initiative, senior officials of AR engaged participants in an interactive session on effective waste management, highlighting practical steps for reducing, reusing, and recycling waste in daily life.
The session reinforced the importance of individual and collective action in preserving environmental integrity.
