Distribution of relief items continues

Imphal, May 25 2021: Kakching/Thoubal/Kamjong, May 25: The Kakching High School 1984-Matric Batch donated relief and essential items to five Covid Care Centres (CCC) in Kakching today.

The items were distributed for inmates and staff of the five CCCs, said a statement.

President of the Batch, Naorem Munal Meitei said that the batch is extending help to those affected by COVID-19 as a part of its campaign 'Tha Ama Activity Ama' after consulting with the CCCs regarding the items which the centres require the most.

He continued that the Batch will continue to extend help and appealed to all to follow the SOPs issued by the Government inorder to prevent the further spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, members of Polling Working Committee of 37/1, 37/2 and 37/3 and All Irengband Football Association (AIFA) under the aegis of former MLA Y Surchandra Singh extended help to households affected by COVID-19 and those of poor and needy in the three polling stations in Irengband.

The help were extended to around 150 households today.

On the other hand, Sena Youth's Trust (SYT) and Sena Athlete's Organization (SAO), Kakching distributed vegetables and other edible items to around 40 households of daily wage labourers in Kakching Wairi Senapati Leikai, 10 households which are in the containment zone and to one journalist of Image TV who is under home isolation today.

Speaking on the sidelines, secretary of SYT, Gyanand Naorem said that the daily wage labourers have been impacted badly due to curfew and restrictions imposed by the Government.

Taking into consideration the plight of such households, members of SYT and SAO contributed to extend help to those affected by the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

Apart from the contribution by the members, the well wishers of SYT and SAO also donated for the cause.

The donated items included cabbage, pumpkins, bottle gourd, pulses, salt etc.

He called for concerted efforts from all to overcome the pandemic as the same cannot be left to the Government alone.

THOUBAL
With an aim to combat the second wave of COVID-19 effectively, volunteers of Lamding Educated Welfare Association (LEWA), Thoubal, distributed Vitamin C tablets to around 30 selected elderly people within the jurisdiction of LEWA who come from poor family background today.

The volunteers also sensitized the elders to follow the SOPs laid down by the State to stay safe and protected, said a press release by LEWA.

LEWA further stated that face mask and small bottle of hand sanitizer spray have been made available at a meagre amount of Rs 5 and Rs 40 respectively.

Also, the intending candidate in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election from Wabagai A/C and social worker Shakir Ahmed continues to donate relief items to households in containment zone in Wabagai AC.

The relief items were distributed at containment zones in Kakching Chumnang Pareng and to households opposite to Kakching Police Station.

Speaking on the sidelines, he sought for collective efforts from all to fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and stated that he will continue to extend best possible help to the affected locals with an aim to make Wabagai AC a corona free one.

KAMJONG
Social Activist Dr Alyson Abonmai and Ching Tam Women Development Association Manipur donated 10 bags of rice and one bag of salt to households in Chadong West village in Kamjong district affected by the second wave of COVID-19 .

Speaking on the occasion Dr Alyson Abonmai said that the help have been extended in order to provide some relief to the locals affected by the pandemic and appealed to all to adhere to guidelines issued by the Government to stay safe and protected.
