All arrangements for the by-election to Yaiskul Assembly constituency scheduled for tomorrow have been completed.
With eight companies of central paramilitary forces already deployed in the constituency to ensure peaceful polling, polling personnel have also been assigned their respective polling stations.
Polling will begin at 7 am and end at 3 pm.
E Suraj of Congress I, S Rajendra Kumar of Janata Dal (S), H Jayadeva (Independent) and H Jagdish (Independent) are contesting in the by-election.
Polling for the constituency having 23,513 voters would be done in 28 polling stations.
The number of male voters is 10,796 while female voters constitute 12,703 .
The constituency has 14 service voters.
On the otherhand, in connection with counting of votes on December 23, District Election Officer/DC Imphal East M Lakshmikumar has notified that no person shall carry cigarettes, match box, nail-clippers, screw drivers, sharp blade, knife etc or any other items which may cause hindrance or nuisance to anybody inside mini Secretariat complex of the DC/DEO Imphal East with immediate effect.
Security personnel posted at the gate shall frisk all such persons suitably and CID staff present there shall also assist in the process by use of metal detector etc, it mentioned.
