Imphal, April 15 2021: The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) observed its 41st foundation day at its 131 Bn, on Wednesday (April 14) .

A press communique signed by S Mangal, secretary-in-charge, information and publicity of the outfit informed that the observance was graced by Cpt Dhana, CO of KYKL/MYL 1st Bn as chief guest; Lt Punshiba, CO of KCP/MFL 131 Bn as functional president and Cpt Tamba of KYKL/MYL and Lt Yaipharemba of KCP/MFL as guests of honour.

The observance began with the chief guest lighting the ceremonial lamp and the functional president hoisting the outfit's flag, continued the statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Cpt Dhana highlighted the devastating effect of drug abuse which is impacting on the people as well as the economy of Kangleipak.

Pointing out that the rate of crimes against women/girls under the influence of drugs/intoxicants is also increasing sharply in the State, the outfit urged the people of Kangleipak to contribute their share in making 'our society free from drug abuse' .

Lt Yaipharemba, on the other hand, deliberated on the need to teach the history of Kangleipak to the youths to win back the lost freedom of the erstwhile kingdom while Cpt Tamba appealed to the people of all communities settled in the State to leave aside all the differences and fight against India for a common cause.

Lt Punshiba, in his speech, noted the needs for people's support for the outfit to succeed in its armed struggle.

The 41st foundation day of KCP was also observed at Central Head Quarter (CHQ); General Head Quarter (GHQ), training centre, tactical unit and units of MFL.
