Amusement park comes up at IW

Imphal, October 08 2021: Tourism Minister O Lukhoi inaugurated an amusement park with a 12D theatre called Thoi Thoi Adventure Park (TTAP) at Takhellambam Konjil, Imphal West, today.

After inaugurating the park, O Lukhoi stated that the park will provide a unique taste of entertainment to people who want to be entertained and have fun with their friends and family.

"Irrespective of his/her financial condition, one has to take rest and spend quality time with friends and family every once in a while," he said.

Acknowledging that there are not many places where a person can go for pleasure and entertainment with family members in the State, the Minister exuded confidence that the newly inaugurated TTAP will solve this problem to some extent.

O Lukhoi also applauded managing director of TTAP, Kh Inaoba for his initiative and providing employment opportunities to the youth.

"Establishing more such parks will also be beneficial in promoting tourism in Manipur, which is blessed with beautiful landscape by nature," he opined.

Expressing disappointment that the previous Government hadn't done anything worthwhile to attract tourists to the State, O Lukhoi informed that projects to develop one water amusement park Thengu Chingjin at Awang Potsangbam Khunou and seven children parks at hill districts of Manipur have been implemented.

A concept note has also been sent to the Ministry of Tourism to develop the surrounding areas of Kamakhya temple at Hiyangthang, Mahadeva temple at Heibokching, Bishnu temple at Bishnupur and Lainingthou Sanamahi shrine at Wangoi as tourist destinations, he informed and added that the projects might be sanctioned before the Manipur Legislative Assembly election scheduled in 2022 .

The Minister, however, stated that the number of tourists visiting Manipur has dropped considerably due to Covid pandemic for the time being.

At the function, the Tourism Minister presented a simple gift to Ravi Kashua, a representative of Orbit Amusement Park, New Delhi, which played a major role in developing TTAP.

The managing director of TTAP, Kh Inaoba maintained that the park dedicated to his daughter was developed with a vision to provide a place of entertainment where family members can spend some quality time and ease their stress.

The facilities available at the TTAP include mirror house, haunted house, bumper car, bull rider, wave pool, water slide, rain dance and 12D theatre.

Reportedly, this is the second such park in North East India after Accoland at Guwahati with these facilities.

At the haunted house which has been named as "Hainabagee Mapham", light, sound and visual demonstrations are based on crime against women.

Kh Inaoba also said that a toy train and other features will also be added to upgrade the park to international standard.

According to Inaoba, the entry fee for TTAP would be Rs 300 per head for a month as a special discount.

The revenue earned from the amusement park would be utilised in establishing old age and children homes, he added.

The programme was also attended by former Minister Haokholet Kipgen, Director of Extension Education CAU, Imphal, Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, Chief Engineer of MTDC, Laishram Brojen, DGM of AAI Imphal MM Gautam and chief advisor of TTAP Kh Gambhir Meetei.
