India Bloc shares notes with LoP

During his maiden visit to the State since assuming position as Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi met with representatives of ten political parties of India Bloc Manipur this evening at Congress Bhavan on BT Road.
Representatives of CPI, CPI (M), Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress, National Congress Party, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Aam Aadmi Party, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Forward Bloc and numerous Congress leaders were present at the meeting where various measures to resolve the protracted 14-month old conflict were discussed.
Speaking in this connection, Ksh Santa Singh, convenor, India Bloc Manipur and State council secretary of CPI (M) Manipur said that the political representatives urged the LoP to make concerted efforts to restore peace in Manipur.
The India Bloc convenor also lauded Rahul Gandhi for visiting the State for the third time since the eruption of violence on May 3, 2023 .
The LoP takes the Manipur crisis very seriously.
He has also assured to raise the Manipur issue in the Parliament as much as possible, said the India Bloc convenor.
Additionally, the Congress leader also expressed his gratitude for the hardwork of India Bloc Manipur in bringing about the victory of the two Congress candidates in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
Separately, representatives of the Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) met Rahul Gandhi at Congress Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to the Congress leader.
