Imphal, Sep 05: Presentation of awards to six selected teachers marked the Teachers' Day celebrations held at GM Hall today.

at the State level celebration organised by Department of Education (S) at GM Hall, the teachers were conferred with the prestigious State Teachers' Award 2006 wherein Education Minister L Nandakumar and Director of Education (S) RK Angousana graced the function as the chief guest and president respectively.

The awardees are Khuraijam Biren Singh senior graduate teacher of Kumari High School (Hiyangthang), M Sanahal Singh headmaster of Waithou Mapal Junior HS (Thoubal), RK Sharatkumar Singh science graduate teacher of Ngaikhong HS (Zone-IV), Mrs Lizisa head mistress of Mao Maram Higher Secondary School (Mao), Ksh Lalbapu Singh graduate teacher of Moreh HS (DI, Moreh) and Th Ibopishak Singh lecturer of CC Hr Sec School (Zone-II).

At the Churachandpur District Sports Ground, about 12,000 students from various schools of the district congregated to celebrate the Teachers' Day, said PIB (DW).
