One granted bail

One Lamgoulen Guite (21) who was arrested for posting insulting comments on Facebook against Chief Minister N Biren and other Government functionaries in connection with the Government's efforts of combating the menace of poppy plantation in the hill regions of Manipur has been granted bail.
Lamgoulen Guite (21) s/o Kaithang Guite of Aige-jang village, Kangpokpi was arrested by a team of Imphal police station yesterday from inside the premises of Imphal police station at around 7.30 pm.
He was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West today.
Through an APP, the IO of the case submitted that the accused uploaded a comment on Facebook on March 2 which reads "I don't understand your language so speak in Juku language so that we all can understand sir Biren Ji what you are doing is very shameful as a human being.
Have some love, harmony, peace and prosperity even your own god will not be please to you one day.
I'm sure god will punish you for sure and died like a beggar the sadness, sorrow what you have done to poor farmers" .
The content of the post went viral on social media and it provoked communal hatred among different classes and communities, the IO said and prayed for remanding the accused in police custody for four days.
On the other hand, the defence counsel filed remand objection along with a prayer for releasing the accused on bail.
The Court, after hearing the submission of the APP, the defence counsel and on perusal of the case record, passed an order for releasing the accused on bail on execution of PR bond of Rs 20,000 along with one surety of the same amount.
