CM takes canvassing to bazar area

Imphal, November 02 2015: Hardselling Congress candidate, Jyotin Waikhom amongst the trading community of the bazar area in Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency today, Chief Minister O Ibobi today urged the voters to give him a chance to look into the shortfalls of the people .

Interacting with a number of community leaders at Dharmashala during an interaction programme organised by the Bazar Area Development Committee, the Chief Minister urged them to give Jyotin Waikhom a chance so that he may serve their interest.

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, PHED Minister I Hemochandra, Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, MLAs Ksh Biren and Kh Debendra were also present during the interaction programme.

Interacting with the community leaders, the Chief Minister took a dig at the BJP candidate and reminded them that the mid-term poll has been necessitated since he was disqualified as an MLA.

The Chief Minister acknowledged that there are only about 18 months left for the present term to expire, but nevertheless appealed to the community leaders to give a chance to Jyotin Waikhom.

Test him, give him a chance, urged the Chief Minister and added that Jyotin Waikhom will be able to bridge the communication gap between the Government and the people of the bazar area.

The Chief Minister also assured them that the Government will look into all the development deficits in the bazar area and urged them to extend all co-operation in the efforts made to keep the bazar area clean.

If Jyotin Waikhom fails to live up to the expectations of the people in the remaining term then 'I will not come to campaign for him in the next election in 2017,' promised the Chief Minister.

The Government is committed to the cause which are dear to the people, said the Chief Minister and urged the community leaders to extend their co-operation.

The Government has given due emphasis on power and health sectors, said the Chief Minister and added that the need of the hour is for all communities to live together in peace and harmony.

Stating that all those living in the bazar area are never taken as outsiders, the Chief Minister said that all are citizens of India.

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam stated that it has been some time since Thangmeiband AC had a Congress MLA.

Appealing to the people to ensure that the Congress candidate is voted this time, Gaikhangam appealed to them to break the trend and vote for the Congress candidate.
