Resolve the crisis : Y Joykumar

Former Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar has stated that the Kukis living in Manipur and abroad have been putting in constant effort to justify whatever they have been doing amid the ethnic tension in front of the world.
Y Joykumar made the statement during the 77th birth anniversary of former Lok Sabha Speaker Purno Agitok Sangma popularly known as PA Sangma which was observed at Naoremthong today.
During the observance, Y Joykumar who is the National vice president of NPP led in offering floral tributes to the photo of PA Sangma.
At the function, Y Joykumar continued that what the people of Manipur want is to resolve the crisis besieging the State.
He also said that the two warring communities have to set aside their differences and hold a dialogue to work out a solution to the crisis.
Saying that Meeteis and Hmar people in Jiribam have been engaging in talks and working together to restore peace in the district which has also seen violence, Joykumar added that a similar and a more extensive dialogue need to be held to restore normalcy in Manipur.
There is more unity among the Kukis than the Meeteis and the same can be seen in the collective effort they have been putting in to justify their action in front of the world, he said.
Meanwhile, Joykumar said that NPP which was founded in Manipur has now become a National party having MLAs in North East States viz Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
NPP MLAs-Thongam Shanti (Moirang), Janghemlung Panmei (Tamenglong) and Irengbam Nalini (Oinam) attended the programme among others.
