Speaking to reporters at Kangpokpi today, SHDDC president Haokholal Guite remarked that the demand of the people to upgrade Sadar Hills into a full fledged revenue district remains unfulfilled even as it was the 63rd time that bandhs/blockades and general strikes were imposed in pursuit of the same cause.
Such indifference of the Govt amounts to discriminating the people of Sadar Hills, he alleged.
Questioning the reluctance of the Government to station separate Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police for Sadar Hills to facilitate development and administrative convenience, the SHDDC president maintained that they would with their movement until and unless their demand is fulfilled.
He further informed that in accordance to the wish of the people, 'Sadar Hills District' has been painted in all the signboards put up on market sheds, shops and other public buildings.
