A Sharda Devi accorded warm welcome in Kpi

Kangpokpi, September 23 2021: BJP Manipur Pradesh president, Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi was accorded a welcome by the people of Kangpokpi on Thursday at Multipurpose Hall, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi.

The felicitation cum blessing ceremony of A Sharda Devi was organized under the aegis of BJP Kangpokpi Mandal.

It was attended by Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen, Caretaker Chairman of ADC Sadar Hills, Haokholal Hangshing and Chairman Kangpokpi Town Committee, Lunseh Kipgen as presidium members.

Paokam Haokip, state Secretary BJP Manipur Pradesh and in-charge Sadar Hill District, Manipur, Tingnei Lhouvum, president BJP Kangpokpi Mandal, Dr Hemang Singsit, Chief Agent of 50-Kangpokpi AC, Mandal presidents, vice presidents and workers also took part in the programme.

On her maiden visit to Kangpokpi District as the president of BJP Manipur Pradesh, A Sharda Devi was greeted with a Thadou-Kuki cultural dance performed by Kholmun veng, Ward No 14 cultural troupe at the entrance gate of the SHADC Kangpokpi office before the felicitation cum blessing ceremony was held at Multipurpose Hall, SHADC Kangpokpi.

Series of presentations from various organizations, mandals, and communities including Kangpokpi Town Committee was followed by a blessing prayer from Rev Fr Janggin Chongloi, Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship.

Addressing the gathering, A Sharda Devi said, "our mission in the coming 2022 general assembly election is to target 40 plus BJP MLAs in the State, which is a strategy and targeted plan during the tenure of our beloved former President (L) Prof S Tiken Singh".

The BJP president highlighted various schemes and projects undertaken by the BJP Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stated that the party would work for the welfare and upliftment of the marginalised people.

Nemcha Kipgen said, "we hope our dynamic president, A Sharda Devi will cherish the party target of 40 plus MLAs in the coming general assembly election and bring more changes and development in the State".

The MLA further stated that under the leadership of A Sarda Devi, the Government's mission, "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" would empower the women of the State.

Later, the people of Kangpokpi while blessing the state BJP President appealed to her to look after the lone woman BJP MLA, Nemcha Kipgen and assured that the women community of the district would support and cooperate with the president in the future.
