Imphal, April 02 2016 :
Aimol Tribe Union Manipur (ATUM) president S Munthuireng in a statement today said that UKLF will not be allowed to stay in Aimols' land.
And no one would be allowed to pursue any activities like jhum cultivation, felling down of trees and cultivation of opium (kani) in Aimol land without the permission of the owner of the land.
Besides, no new settlement in Aimol land will be allowed.
It also urged a UKLF leader Shoshon, chief of Molnom village who assumed lordship over Aimols' land to leave Molnom village.
Saying that no one would be granted permission for cultivation of opium and new settlement in Aimol land, ATUM president informed all concerned to come to the head office of ATUM located at Aimol Tampak if they want to obtain permission for other activities.
ATUM will not be held responsible for any untoward incident in case anyone takes up any activities in Aimols' land without the permission of the owners.
S Munthuireng said that every individual has the rights to protect, preserve and promote one's tribe or identity.
As such, he urged all concerned not to intervene or interfere in the affairs of Aimol without understanding the core issue.
ATUM president said Kuki villages around Aimols' land like Molnom, Saivom, Phaichambung etc are given temporary refuge by the Aimols.
The people came as guests.
But now, they fail to recognise their landlords and acted as the masters of the land.
UKLF leader Lunkhoshon alias Shoshon (Mangbum Haokip) who tried to assert mastery over the land of Aimols and his attempt to keep the Aimols as the subjects of his clan (Mangbum) is the cause of the crisis within the Aimol tribe, S Munthuireng said.
The scheme of UKLF leader Lunkhoshon to create trouble within the Aimols is not reasonable.
Shoshon had bought ADC Member Ch Chanthoi.
This is evident from the press release carried in an English evening daily on April 2, 2015 and a vernacular daily on May 1, 2015 which declared Ch Chanthoi as an uncontested member of ADC Chandel.
Others who came up as candidates in the ADC election other than the ones selected by the outfit were warned to be given capital punishment and their dead bodies will not be allowed to be buried in Chandel district.
Ch Chanthoi is not a man who grew up in Aimols' land and he is not aware of the history and custom of Aimols.
Presently, Chanthoi has no place in Aimol land.
He is a puppet of Shoshon, Munthuireng said.
