RK Meghen moots new political movement to fight corruption

Imphal, August 10 2025: United National Liberation Front (UNLF) former chairman RK Meghen on Sunday said that a new political movement is needed to protect society from corruption and the materialism of the modern era.

Speaking at the 15th foundation anniversary of The Hope Home Imphal, a children's home located at Langjing, Imphal West, Meghen opined that only a new political culture led by a generation willing to sacrifice with a pure heart can restore the state's moral and social fabric.

He urged the youth to work for Manipur with dedication and a spirit of service.

He also linked proliferation of intoxicants from outside Manipur for the erosion of traditional values among young people.

He also warned that societal decline is deepening as parents fail to instil good manners and schools neglect the moral teachings of the past.

Meghen said that the path forward lies in following the principles of the forefathers and avoiding intoxicants.
