Imphal, February 26 2023: Suspected members of NSCN-IM burnt two excavators of Keystone Infra Construction Company used in construction works at Kharam Vaiphei village in Kangpokpi district on Saturday.

According to sources, the two excavators were found burnt around 5am.The incident occurred after the suspected NSCN-IM members confined the driver and workers at the makeshift sheds.

Before leaving, the suspected NSCN-IM members also left a written note and a live round of 9mm calibre.

It is believed that the act was carried out in retaliation for failure of the company to pay extortion money.

Mention may be made a similar incident of burning an excavator belonging to the same company took place on February 20 at HIT.
