Vaccination camp for transgenders organised

Imphal, June 01 2021: A vaccination camp for transgenders was held at RD Wing, Medical Directorate today.

The camp was organised by Trasngender Health and Wellness Centre, Manipur under the supervision of Mission Director, National Health Mission.

The aim of the vaccination drive for transgender is to initiate va-ccination drive for transgender community and to ensure their health and wellbeing.

Trasngender right activists, Bonita Pebam said the vaccination drive was also organised to provide a platform to all the transgender to get their COVID-19 vaccines as they are various hindrances at other vaccination centres because of stigma and discrimination.

Trasngender Health and Wellness Centre is run by Maruploi Foundation and supported by Manipur AIDS Control Society (MACS) and ITEC-India.
