Red Shield organises carol singing competition

Imphal, December 09 2022: Red Shield Division, under the aegis of Spear Corps, organised a Carol singing competition at Leimakhong on Friday.

According to PRO (Defence), the event focused on boosting the civil-military relations and to foster a spirit of camaraderie among the local populace and Indian Army was participated by 400 individuals from 18 Choir groups.

The winner, Tangkhul Baptist Church, Imphal and runners-up, "The Awakening Choir", Imphal were felicitated with presentation of handsome cash prizes in addition to handing over consolation prizes to other participants, the PRO informed, adding that the event proved to be a great success with participation of local youth in large numbers.

The event was conducted like a carnival which included multiple games and regional food stalls.

More than 1000 locals from the adjoining areas and Imphal attended with great fanfare, the PRO informed.
