Lecture, yoga training, medical camp conducted

Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on career opportunities in Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces at Hope Hall Academy, Churachandpur on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), students numbering 30 received guidance about various entries into the Indian Armed Forces, Assam Rifles, Central Armed Police Forces and other government and semi-government sectors during the event.
Meanwhile, in the run-up to the 15th International Yoga Day, Assam Rifles conducted a two-week training capsule for soldiers at Modi village in Chandel district.
This ini tiative, aimed at promoting the benefits of yoga, saw participation from over 50 personnel, said PRO IGAR (S) in a release, adding that the training encompassed lectures on the benefits of yoga, introduction to basic asanas, and guidance on incorporating yogic practices into daily routines to enhance training acumen, followed by mass yoga demonstration, which inspired and motivated the troops to adopt yoga for a healthier lifestyle.
In conjunction with the training, Assam Rifles also conducted a lecture on the importance of yoga in Tusom CV village, Ukhrul district, highlighting the historical and spiritual significance of yoga as an Indian practice that dates back to prehistoric times.
The villagers learned how incorporating yoga into daily life can bring greater harmony, reduce agitation, and foster a calm, meaningful, and focused way of living.
The event in Tusom CV village aimed to enlighten the community about the known and hidden benefits of yoga for the body, mind, and spirit, added the PRO.
Assam Rifles also organised a comprehensive medical camp and distributed essential items to residents of Salanthong, Imphal East district, on June 8.The residents received health check-ups, consultations, and medical advice from Experienced professionals during the camp.
The Assam Rifles distributed vital supplies such as food staples, hygiene kits, and other essential commodities to the residents.
Also, Assam Rifles provided essential water supply to Anal Khunou village, Chandel district, where aftermath of Cyclone Remal disrupted the water supply, prompting Assam Rifles to extend assistance to address the water shortage.
This initiative was warmly received by the villagers and local authorities, who expressed their support to the security force, said the PRO in another release.
