AR commemorates World Wildlife Day

Imphal, March 03 2025: Assam Rifles organised a special event to celebrate World Wildlife Day at Chongjang village, Tengnoupal district on Monday.

The event aims to spread awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity and protecting endangered species.

According to a press release issued by PRO IGAR (S), the celebration included an awareness lecture on wildlife conservation, interactive sessions with local students, and a plantation drive to promote afforestation.

Assam Rifles personnel engaged with the community, emphasising the role of sustainable practices in safeguarding natural resources.

More than 50 local villagers and youth actively participated in discussions on the impact of deforestation, illegal wildlife trade, and habitat destruction, the release added.
