Assam Rifles extend aids, conducts fogging operation

Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) on Wednesday provided water tanks and essential items at Charlong village in Chandel district to aid households store greater quantity of water, and address clean water scarcity problem faced by the villagers, especially during the monsoon season.
According to PRO IGAR (S), Assam Rifles also provided medical assistance to one Shabana (38) of Lilong Khong Manung, who was bitten by a poisonous snake at her residence.
Upon examination, the medical team identified a snake bite and administered anti-snake venom along with other necessary medications.
The patient was later referred to the Thoubal district hospital for further treatment.
The prompt intervention by the Assam-Rifles medical team was crucial in stabilising her condition and preventing further complications.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles conducted extensive fogging operations to combat vector-borne diseases at Brahmapur Bamon Leikai, Brahmapur Lalji Lakpa Leikai (Imphal East) and Keishamthong Laisom Leirak (imphal West) which have been severely affected by outbreaks of dengue and malaria in recent days.
The proactive measures were greatly appreciated by the local leaders, village heads, Meira Paibis, and residents of the affected areas, the PRO informed.
Meanwhile, with the aim to foster the spirit of sportsmanship among the local populace and encourage them stay away from the scourge of insurgency, Assam Rifles conducted friendly volleyball matches for villagers of Hoyang and Yentem in Ukhrul district, the PRO further added.
